Araujo Leonardo, the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, has announced to the football family and club supporters that they have rejected the offer made by the Spanish football giant Real Madrid to have one of theirs, French-born Kylian Mbappé one week to the close of the transfer window.
According to Leonardo, the amount proposed by Real Madrid, $188 million, is not sufficient for Paris Saint-Germain to release Kylian Mbappé. They are, however open for further negotiations if Real Madrid is willing to make a better offer.
“If Real Madrid makes an offer, that seems clear. I am giving a position which, I think, is clear for everyone. We can’t, in the last week of the transfer window, change our plans. If he wants to leave, we aren’t going to keep him, but it’s under our conditions,” he told RMC Sport, a French broadcaster.
He added that the player is willing to leave PSG since his contract is coming to an end by the end of this football season, and the club is also willing to let him go but at a reasonable price which will help the club meet up with its own financial engagement.
Football analysts have warned that Paris Saint-Germain may not have any money from Kylian Mbappé if they reject the Real Madrid offer since his contract would end this season, and he would be forced to leave the club however for free just like Lionel Messi left Barcelona FC.
Florentino Pérez, Madrid’s president, has expressed his wish for the player to join the team and said the club is working hard for the player to be transferred to the club this coming season.
